We did our Webinar today on ITIL4 and business value. I will summarize the highlights. I have been practicing ITIL since 2002 (the ITILv2 days). ITIL4 is, by far, one of the most value-oriented customer-centric frameworks that I have come across. The SVS or Service Value System itself brings tremendous amount of focus on realizing ‘value’ to meet the ‘Demand/Opportunity’. The SVC or Service Value Chain, sitting at the core of SVS enables design of value streams that are targeted to optimize value co-creation. The Seven Guiding Principles are designed to provide industry-, organization-agnostic guidance on ensuring value co-creation. The overall design of ITIL4 framework allows organizations to be as agile as the customer / business needs IT service provider to be. ITIL4 provides a foundational source of best practice on which you are able to build other approaches. In summary, ITIL4 introduces concepts and guidelines that will certainly play a crucial role as IT becomes a critical business driver and source of competitive advantage.
